Gospodarzem pierwszego etapu Pomorze Sprint Cup 2019 będzie Gniew, liczące około 7 tys. mieszkańców miasto w południowej części województwa pomorskiego.
The host of the first stage of Pomorze Sprint Cup 2019 will be Gniew, a town of about 7 thousand inhabitants situated in the southern part of Pomerania Province.
Miasto o prawie 800 letniej historii po raz pierwszy w historii będzie gościło biegaczy na orientację. Trasy I etapu PSC 2019 prowadzić będą w zabytkowe centrum miasta, wzdłuż średniowiecznych murów obronnych, a meta zlokalizowana będzie na terenie XII-wiecznego zamku krzyżackiego w Gniewie. Zamek jest dziś jedną największych architektonicznych atrakcji Kociewia, regionu którego częścią jest Gniew. Na terenie kompleksu zamkowego znajdują się dziś 2 ekskluzywne obiekty hotelowe – „Zamek Gniew - Hotel Zamek” i „Zamek Gniew - Pałac Marysieńki”. Uprzejmość właściciela całego obiektu zamkowego, spowodowała, że również zdecydował się zostać naszym partnerem organizacyjnym, dlatego możemy metę i centrum zawodów zlokalizować na zamku dolnym, gdzie organizowanych jest wiele imprez plenerowych o charakterze historycznym. To będzie z pewnością niezapomniany etap.
The town with almost 800 years of history will host orienteers for the first time. The routes of the first stage of PSC 2019 will run towards the historic centre of the town, along its medieval defensive walls, and the finish line will be located in the 12th-century Castle of the Teutonic Order in Gniew. Today the castle is one of the greatest architectural attractions of Kociewie – a region Gniew is a part of. Within the castle complex there are 2 luxurious hotel facilities: Gniew Castle – Hotel Rycerski and Gniew Castle – Pałac Marysieńki. The owner of the entire castle estate was kind enough to become our organizational partner, therefore we can locate the finish line and the competition centre in the lower castle in which numerous outdoor events of historical nature are organized. It will certainly be an unforgettable stage!
